Bubble Study with Echo

Just had an echo with bubble study today. So the doc used two full syringes with bubbles/saline combo before realizing my IV site blew. As the day has gone on my arm is hurting worse and worse from elbow to half was up my upper arm. Rotating it causes really sharp pains as does trying to extend my arm. When I push on the area I hear the popping noises of the bubbles. Anyways...any idea how long it will hurt? How long for the bubbles to be reabsorbed?

Are you saying the IV site that blew has crepitus?

Pretty much. They were doing the bubble study where they purposely inject air bubbles into the IV. They weren't seeing any of the air bubbles getting to the heart so they tried again...they assumed the IV gauge was too small so they put an 18g in my other arm. My arm felt fine earlier today but it's really starting to bother me now. It's about a 2.5x6 inch area taking up most of my bicep.I'm just wondering how long it'll be annoying and hurt to lift things! ;)
