BSN to MSN

I have looked at several. Many are not accredited, so be careful. I have not chosen one yet, but am looking at graceland college, or St joseph in new york, there is a great program at canyon college, but I do not think that one is accredited. If you aer not planning on taking a state exam for Nurse practioner, and need a Masters degree for teaching or other employment, then the non accredited colleges may be acceptable.. Check out all options before choosing, check with your employer if accepted, and so on..... Good Luck.....

There are many online MSN programs available in several majors as well as online programs in healthcare related majors. When I was doing research for my book I was surprised to see that nursing was embracing online degrees. The most important thing however is that the program be both regionally accredited and nursing accredited by NLN or CCNE. You must yourself call the accrediting agency and check for yourself. A school that is not accredited may be very good but later justifying it may cause more problems that benefits. If it wasn't for distance education I would not have been able to move past my ASN. I have found a few good options. I am going to apply to these schools, as I hear the acceptance rate is hard to get into these schools. They are all on line courses, BSN to MSN

1) University of Wyoming

2) Indiana University

3) Drexel University

4) Walden University

There are many from what I have seen, but these seem best to me.

University of Wyomimg seems to have the best tution at $142.00 a credit for graduate level courses. Half that of Univ of Pheonix online, Walden University, and Cappella University.

I've been with University of Phoenix (fully accredited) for 15 months now - doing the BSN/MSN combo. I've been very happy with it.

I am enrolled in Univ of Phoenix online MSN program, I just finished my 3rd class. It is great for flexibility, 6 week classes then a week off, or if you are like me, 2-4 weeks off after each class! I'm not in a rush to get the degree. I would have to advise you to expect 20-30 hrs/week on homework as the norm if you want to do well. I've seen a few slackers that probably don't put in that much and let team members do more of their share of work but for the most part, the classes have went pretty good. I do acknowledge that much of what I am learning is applicable to the real world, it's not a bunch of useless information. That is important to me.
