Broward college nursing program 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello, I've decided to create a forum for all the applicants/future applicants who will(hopefully) be attending broward college's nursing program in 2019. I've seen one for almost every year so I figured 2019 should have one as well. You're free to discuss the excitement and stresses of the application process as well as the program itself.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Moved to the Schools/Colleges discussion forum

Okay will do. How do I delete this one?

Thank you for moving it for me!

Hey, everyone! I'm currently in the program and in Process 1 so I was in your place around a month ago, lol. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns! :) good luck

Hey! I have a few questions...

If you are in north campus, how is it going so far? I've heard a few horror stories..

I am not going to be done A&P2 until the end of this semester, so I wont be able to apply until then...that doesn't play a role in the application process does it? Like is it first come first served?

How long is the actual program? I will be applying to the Summer 2019 start, so will I have class every summer? I'm assuming the program is 2 years.

How often do you have class/clinical a week?

THANK YOU!!!

Hey! First off, im not at north... im at central :)

This is a general message to whoever reads this board.

I'm really enjoying the program and even though it's tough, it's very rewarding. I know every horror story you've heard and my honest opinion is to put everything aside and focus on yourself rather than focusing on what everyone else has to say. Any program you go into is going to be hard... you can't go in to nursing thinking it'll be a walk in the park because it won't, you have someone's life in your hands and you shouldn't take that lightly. Get ready to WORK HARD and study every single day (if you want to pass). Don't plan on working full time, and if you're doing your prerequisites now, take them seriously and pay attention because all of that info will be very useful once you're here.

For the first 4 weeks you have Process 1, Process 1 lab, math, and pharmacology. If you pass the math exam you'll be done with math and now only have to worry about process and pharm. Your clinical day is once a week, either Tuesday or Wednesday... BUT the first week you will have class both that Tuesday and Wednesday for a sort of orientation.

- Wear your uniform PROPERLY

- ladies, wear your hair up and make sure it's neat, no messy buns... look professional.

- keep the jewelry and excessive makeup for the weekends when you go out

- go in with an open mind and stop listening to other people who are full of negativity... they probably retracked and that's why they're talking that way lol

Good luck!

Hi Sewedev,

Where is school/college discussion forum?thanks

How is the math class going so far?

Great advise Gowtheflo!! I am at North Campus Process 1.

I totally agree there are a ton of horror stories out there but you cant believe everything you hear. You don't know what truly happened. Like what Ms.Gowtheflo said this is not an easy program.

With that being said everyone is here to help you but will not baby you during the way. They are here to help you become very strong nurses. They want you to read, study, review notes and know your stuff. Doing this will give you the ability to connect the dots when it comes to organs, functions, disease processes and help you understand why your doing what you are doing.

Even though this program is stressful it is very rewarding. Make friends and find a good small study group. Try to enjoy the journey and the small victories! Everyday you get under your belt is another day closer to your goal.

Does anyone know the acceptance date ?
