Brookhaven Spring 2019

Hey Guys! Thought I'd start a forum for those applying for Spring 2019 of the

Brookhaven nursing program. I still have to do the Critical Thinking exam, dosage calc class, Hesi! Can't wait to talk to you guys as we apply!!

Yes I have but will be retaking it in September at Brookhaven.

thank you I hope I pass

There has to be some way to study or at least prepare for the critical thinking exam, right? Should I just start researching ethical quandaries a nurse might have in the work place?

It's my understanding that you must physically go in to schedule the test. The first step is paying for the test at the cashier in Bldg S, then you must take the receipt to the testing center to show proof of payment, then you will be able to schedule your test.

Thank you dmyre for your help

Has anyone enrolled in the CT exam on blackboard? If so, if you click on the exam tab there is an Exam A available. Do we have to take that online or do we have to take that exam at the testing center?

I had to take it in the testing center. Since it's only available during the same short window as the HESI, I'm confident that is the only option.

Heads up... The fee to schedule the HESI is actually $42, instead of the $40 that is listed on the form.

You've already taken the critical thinking exam? If you don't mind me asking, was it difficult? Or was the description of the exam having to do with ethics/nursing fairly accurate?

I completed the CT exam ~ 6 months ago. It didn't seem difficult, but you don't know which questions were missed. I didn't do that great, but I don't plan on retaking it. There is no good way to study for it.

EDIT - most of the questions were "what would you do in this situation". talking about issues in front of family, co-worker giving wrong meds, etc
