Brookhaven nursing program points

For those of you who graduated from Brookhaven.......

How many points did you have when you were accepted into the program.

That question was brought up at the last nursing discussion group for Brookhaven. I was told it varies from application period to application period. But that 21 on the low end and 30+ on the high end, is the range to be in. I'm shooting for 30 or much higher myself!

I have figured it up if I get an 100 on my Hesi A2 I will have 37.4 points. I am trying to play with the numbers to take the pressure off. I would need a 93 to have 30.4 points. Do you think 30 would be competitive?

My understanding is that 30 is competitive.

For example: The 21-30 range was for the admittance into Mountain View College which runs off the Brookhaven Nursing program for the last application period.

I think Brookhaven may be a little higher then that because of the number of applications they receive, but now that Mountain View is in the picture, that may calm down a bit.

I will be at 13.25, not counting the HESI, and taking Pathophysiology and End of Life Issues during the application period. So if I get a 90 or better that will put me at 28.25 as my GPA is only 3.25 on the prereqs.

Since there are only 42 total points, 17 being before the HESI, I would think a 30 is good, but who am I! :monkeydance: I'm applying this fall to get the extra 3 points to help my score which will put me over the 30 mark if I do well on the HESI. All of which is my ultimate goal.

I had 29 points and I got in on my first try. I made a 94 on the HESI but I think that I could have done much better.

I got in with 31 points, but that was at the way high end. I know some got in with 21 or 23 points, and I know some with 17 or 19 points got an interview, but I don't know if any that low actually got in. Of course, you won't have the interview part, so that really isn't aplicable, the top 60 got an interview with us, but you have to be in the top 40.

Really it all depends on how many applied, the first time I applied for fall 2006 with 23 and it wasn't enough, but like I said, with my class 23 was. I think you both sound like you have a great chance of getting in, so don't worry too much. :)

Good luck!

Does anyone know if I suppose to take the Hesi at Brookhaven only? I am from out of state and want to move to Dallas area next summer. I want to apply for the spring 2010.

I got in with 34.5. The HESI can be taken at any DCCCD school, i took mine at el centro. 30 is the magic number for points.

Does anyone have any advice when it comes to choosing El Centro or Brookhaven's ADN program. I am still taking pre reqs, but I am not sure which program to aim for???

Thanks!

i am hoping to get in for Fall 2010... i havent taken the HESI test again but will soon.....is mountain view not accepting anyone?

No MVC is no longer taking students. They are starting their own program, but it will take awhile.

I'm going to Brookhaven. How long did it take you to complete the pre-reqs/support classes and the nursing program? I have a bachelors already. I completed some pre-reqs already and want to try and graduate in 3 years? Do you think that is possible?
