Brookhaven Nursing Program 2012 Class

Hello everyone, I would like to know who's applying to Brookhaven this fall for their Spring 2012 class, if so how many with how many points? I will be taking my last support course this summer, which is my elective (PHIL 1304). I am so excited, upon completion of this course I will have 32.39 points. I can't tell how nervous I am, I hope this is enough. Any advice from previous or current nursing program is welcomed.

I'm thinking OR (or anything perioperative) but who knows, I've read that some people just click with a specialty they didn't expect once they're in clinicals! You?

I'm thinking about peds or oncology...or perhaps the burn unit. I also am really considering getting my BSN @ Arlington since ya'll posted some info about it...thank you, by the way! I have always wanted to be a physicians assistant though.

Sorry about last message...I didn't wrap your quote right!!

All good :) Those specialties all sound great!

I took my CPR at El Centro in August before my old one expired to get the shortened class.

I'm thinking the VA's ICU unit. I only need one more semester after I grad to go to UTA's RN-BSN. So I hope to start their program in Jan 2014. I eventually want to teach nursing at UTA.

My husband got covered in concrete goo at work yesterday so dinner plans were knocked for hot wings at home. I've convinced him that we need to go to dinner this weekend to celebrate, and then go shopping for white shoes for clinicals since my work will reimburse me $150 for walking or running shoes :)

Any Suggesstions?

Same here! I really just need the random courses I didn't take with my first degree, like government (somehow was not required to take that!) and nutrition. I've thought about becoming an instructor eventually too, or maybe going into clinical research.

My CPR card expired so I MUST take it again!!! Hot wings and beer is a good combo!!! As far as shoes go, I haven't a clue??? My sister has been a nurse for 14 years, now she's in management, but I do not even think she knows the best shoes to buy at this point, so I won't even ask her!! I think it's great that your work place will reimburse you for your shoes...that's awesome!!! Have ya'll been looking at scrubs yet??

I haven't gone to the store yet to check dickies green against the cherokee hunter green they use, but I hope they match. I have a pair of dickies scrubs from when I was a cna that I absolutely love.

Ihey've got so many cute styles of scrubs out there now, it's amazing and there's so much to choose from!! I've been looking at Cherokee, Swan, and Dickies..it's so hard to choose, I like them all!

This may be a stupid question, but do y'all find that the unisex scrubs are less form-flattering than the ones for women? I like the one-pocket tops, but they really just have that on the unisex scrubs, not the women's (the women's usually have 2)... what do y'all think? What do you normally wear?

Also - from the looks of things on scrubsandbeyond.com the Dickies hunter green is a little darker than the Cherokee. The student I talked to from Fall said that she had AC sign a form to substitute the scrubs, so it may be worth it to wait until we can get some more info from her.

I really like the two pocket scrubs with the v neck. I found some Cherokee Flexibles pants in Hunter Green that looked really comfortable with a fold down waist on MedicalScrubscollection.com

Sugarmagnolia018, did AC send you the booklist?
