Bridging Program in Australia

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Hi, May I ask what is the basis of the length of BP? I heard it's only for 3 months for some people but some can reach up to 2 years?

Hi,

I would like to ask a few questions. I made my decision to take the BP if dough permits. :( I am a Registered nurse here in the Philippines. I have 9 months of experience last 2009-2010.

I've heard that BPs take 3 months to 2 years for completion. Where do they base the length of the program that they require you to take?

Thanks in advanced! :)

Hi, I will be doing Feb intake in IHNA melbourne, can anybody recommend me a room to rent somewhere near the campus. I just found out that free accommodation is no longer available

Thank you

Although we ask members not to recommend individual places we do ask that members provide information on places to look for accommodations

I see that Education, Training and Employment Australia has more start dates for bridging programs than other Colleges/Universities. Any feedback for this institution if anyone took their course from them please?

Thank you.

Hello guys. I'm new here and I need help. I just passed the pteand I am on my first step of acquiring the documents needed for ahpra but i am worried about the police clearance thing.

I worked for 4 years in ksa under MOH. I left ksa last 2015 on a re-entry visa. I have coe and endorsement cert with me which was provided by the hospital before i left. I also have COGS which i requested online this year.

The thing is that i have huroob (run away case for not going back to ksa since i left with re-entry visa) under my iqama when i checked it online. I am worried now if this will hinder me from being approved by ahpra since this huroob will appear on my criminal history in ksa.

Does anyone know who had this situation before? I hope i can still get cleared by ahpra even with this case.

Hi nurseHD,

AHPRA will look at cases individually.

What may constitute as a criminal liability in other countries may not necessarily be considered as a 'criminal offense' in Australia (i.e. leaving your job before your contract ends). So even though AHPRA will ask for a police clearance from all countries of recent residency, and your KSA police clearance may in fact reflect the fact that you did not return to your job, AHPRA may look at this and consider the issue moot. Or they may ask for more information and ask you for an explanation.

Either way, you will have to go through the registration process to find out if your 'criminal history' has at all any bearing in Australia.

I would like to ask if AHPRA has an e-mail? Im working here in UAE and it seems the Certificate of Good Standing here can only be sent thru e-mail. Is it possible if I could just sent the COGS along with my AGOS 40 form? I am trying to search their email on their website but its not there it seems

They have a web enquiry form. If you google 'AHPRA contact'. Alternatively you can call them on +61 3 9275 9009.

Hi guys. I'm a nurse from the Philippines. I just wanna ask a quick question. If I am to start in March gathering and processing my papers for bridging, how soon can I leave? Thanks. My IELTS will expire on January 2018 and I just want to make sure I'll be able to use it
