BPN and BSN

Hello everyone. I am currently in the health care assistant program hoping to do nursing afterwards. The HCA program can bridge into the Bachelor of psychiatric nursing but not bachelor of science in nursing (I think this was ridiculous.. ) preferably I would rather do bsn because psychology isn't my forte but If it gets really hard to do my bsn, I will consider bpn. So here's my question. I was told that bpn is basically like bsn only with an extra skill. I can still work as a regular nurse in a hospital but can I work in a women's clinic or youth clinic with that degree? And If I wanted to specialize for example, in maternity, am I able to do it with a bpn rather than a bsn?

Please let me know what you guys think. Plus If it's different in countries, do tell. I have always been interested in moving to the US, or the UK... I am from Canada just in case anyone was wondering. Thank you!!!!

Doubt the US will accept it as they require general trained and I think you may find the UK is the same. ONly way to find out for the UK is check the NMC website
