BMCC Spring 2023

Hi there! I just completed AP I and plan to submit my checklist soon in the hopes of taking HESI 2 this December. I currently have a 3.83 GPA for my PCI’s (I have A’s in everything but AP I for which I received a B+). I hope to do well on the HESI and be accepted to the Nursing program for the Spring of 2023 day program. I wanted to touch base with other people here who plan on doing the same so we can exchange tips and even work together if some of us get accepted to the same program. I look forward to speaking with everyone!

That I am not sure about. I just did everything on the same visit to avoid any issues.

Perhaps one of the current students can help us out on how that works.

right.. thanks either way for the information! it's good to know we can at least start ahead of time with things.

Just got a email with a zoom link on tmr night! Anyone with me?

Hey!

Question regarding the drug testing and all of the physical/background checking: Do you recall the timeline of when you had to submit all of that info via castlebranch? In the student handbook it says that students have to submit all of that info 30 days before they start clinicals. I'll be out of the country mid-Jan so my availability to realistically prepare and submit all of those documents/tests is frightening me.

Or did bmcc just required submitting it anytime before the start of classes?

Thanks!!

For fundamentals, wait on the  instructions for the drug test they must be 30 days before your clinical date. for fundamentals you have to spend some time in school learning the basics. however the physical checks, titers etc must be done ASAP because castle branch takes ages to go through. .you have plenty of time tob get cleared you don't go to clinical hospital right away, however do it asap so you don't get a headache.

Congratulations for those who got in! it brings me back memories when I first got accepted! the journey awaits!!

Competition is now gone. You must work together! befriend your colleagues.

A run down on my cohort.

81 students. at the end original cohort is about 40-ish. you loose half of you guys, but rest assured its not the end. some repeated and kept going.

Goodluck! also. Read ahead on the Nursing process chapter. It's 6 chapters and its so long. seriously get that out of the way.

I downloaded the 10th Edition of Fundamentals of Nursing by Potter on LibGen to get a head start. Though, I checked the BMCC Barnes and Nobles site for NUR 112 and it looks like they want us to get the 11th Edition when we start the Spring semester. She told us to read chapters 15-20 and chapter 28 to start.

FYI: I also found this cool site called Osmosis.org by Elsevier, which are the people that offer the HESI. They have a specific nursing/NCLEX app that I have been studying for days now. It’s few bucks a month, but they offer great videos, questions and flash cards for nursing students.

I did not get the email and unfortunately did not get in even though I had about a 92 overall grade with GPA and HESI, very competitive this semester, good job everyone!
