Best work schedule

I was wondering what a good way would be to organize your work schedule during day shifts. If I were to work three 12’s what’s the best way to organize it so I can have time to travel without using vacation days?

Work 6 out of 7 days if you can, then you have 7 days off. If that's too much, work 3 on then 2 off then 3 on and you'll have 6 off.

I really liked when I worked a scheduled of alternating weeks.

W-F one week, then F-Su next week, which gave me up to 6 days off at a time.
