I scrolled a few pages, didn't see this...sorry if it's a repeat.
I'm loading up my amazon cart with my text books, thought I'd better get a NCLEX study guide too.
Which do you recommend?

The short answer is "there isn't one BEST guide". Different prep courses are designed to help with different aspects. Much depends on what the individual needs. For someone struggling with the content itself, understanding the knowledge the NCLEX is based upon, HURST is a very popular program. For those who have the content down well, and need help strategizing/prioritizing (the "outside the box" think required in the application of the content), Kaplan is a great choice.
But first things first: Are you finishing up a nursing program? If so, see above. If you are just getting started, forget this entire thread. You cannot review/prep for something you haven't yet learned in school. FIRST learn the material the way your instructors present it. THEN you'll be in good shape to figure out where you need help. In the beginning of a program, you don't know what you need because you don't have even the content down yet.
Good luck!

I loved Saunders! I want to say I got mine for around $60 at Barnes and Nobles. Comes with a CD with so many questions and practice exams. The book itself is in an outline format. I used it to study for exams the whole way through nursing school as well. Super helpful!
