Benefit Rant

I have vac and sick time, 2 personal days a year, b-day hol and pay $60 each pay period for insurance.... no other benefits. I took a 5% pay cut one and a half years ago, PLUS no one received the 2% annual raise last July or This July. I make less than most of my counterparts in Minneapolis and St. Paul...... but, love my job, the people i work with and wouldn't leave just because of the money.

I just realized I posted this is the wrong forum. I wanted to post it the gerneral ltc forum.

We get a week vacation per year. After three years we get two weeks. No birthday, no shift differential. We haven't had raises in two plus years. I do love long term care, but I can see that things are getting worse not better

The CNAs and LPNs don't have benefits at our place. I'm not sure about the RNs either. There have been no raises for the RNs in years. The other staff has had raises that were due to a new contract.

I haven't had a raise in years but I'm PT. (found out that newer nurses have been hired on at a higher rate than me too)

There is no shift diff, birthday pay, benefits, the pay is not competative. They do get vacation days and a few sick days........So looking at the above, why would someone want to work at our LTC????

Schmoo... yep, noted that above. I was more so reffing to Michelle that was discussing aides and LPN's. Sorry for the misinterpretation.
