BADNAP 2018-19

Anyone else applying for the BADNAP OCCC program to begin this summer? Wonder what GPA will work for acceptance? Mine is about a 3.0 w all preqs complete.

Does anybody know what color scrubs OCCC requires? Do we have to order through the school?

Good question. I'd like to pick up a couple pairs of pants for this semester...all the better if I get the right color for my prospective school.

I was wondering about the color of scrubs too, as well as the class schedule. Anybody know what days and hours the courses are during the summer?

So I talked to somebody at the Uniform Shoppe and they said OCCC is navy blue, but you have to buy their specific scrubs and get them embroidered. Supposedly they're like $80 a set?

I'll have to talk to them and see about pants (surely those aren't embroidered)...maybe they have to be a specific brand (and navy blue) but I'll look elsewhere.

I couldn't find any uniform info on OCCC's website except what's in the Nursing Student Handbook.

Excerpt follows:

"Complete uniform for students entering the Nursing Program will consist of:

- At least one scrub top and one scrub bottom that will be ordered on the Moodle Nursing

Campus Lab page under Nursing Campus Lab Uniform Store. You will be able to try

on and order uniforms at orientation."

Maybe you can't see the "Nursing Campus Lab Uniform Store" on your OCCC portal until you're accepted into the program. Oh well.

I just got my OCCC BADNAP email! I'm the #5 alternate (not selected).

...Alternate was expected as I'm still taking required courses this semester.

Check your email!

You can still get in, many usually drop out.

True, not worried yet. 5th alternate is pretty much a lock as far as I've been able to find out. What I don't know is how long to expect to wait. But I'm good/not worried.

Got an email saying my application was ineligible. So annoyed. They didn't count 3 of my courses from UT Austin, so I emailed them and told them I'd send them the syllabus for each one so they could see they were equivalent. Congrats to those that got in or on the waitlist though!

I wonder Why the adisor failed to tell you that, the advisors are supposed to review the application before submission and they advise accordingly. If I were you, I would appeal the decision of disqualification. Its not too late
