I am currently in school now and intersting in pursuing a nursing career, 10 years ago I was involved in an abusive and unsafe relationship and I left my abuser while I was 6 months pregnant, He found me and he tried to take me and my unborn childs life, we struggled with his weapon and as a result he was killed, I was charged with involuntary manslaughter, is there any chance of reaching my goal as a Registered Nurse, I have heard different stories?

At the end of the day it is at the discretion of the nursing board concerned. Obviously being INVOLUNTRY manslaughter works in your favour as opposed to manslaughter. Also consideration will be given to the time passed since the offense being over 10 years and also if you were not incarcerated. I wish you all the best in your endeavours.

One can only assume what you are saying is the complete truth of the situation. No one can answer this question for you. The BON decides who will be a nurse and who won't. Only they can answer this question for you. Before going too far toward a nursing degree, I'd make an appointment to see someone at the BON about it.

There are ways to build the Kingdom of God other than nursing. What about animal care, teaching, or social work?
