Back in LTC

I'm back in LTC after an 11 year stint in other areas, plus going to CC for my RN prereqs. I have been very nervous,,,,MILLIONS of butterflies in my tummy for days now,,but after 3 days of orientation, worked my 1st shift "alone" tonight..all went well, no major incidents..and I'm catching on to all the charting, routines, etc....Thought I would never go back to LTC, but I'm really starting to believe this is going to work out great. Keep your fingers crossed for me cause the full moon is coming soon,,,,and if I remember correctly,,,,it's gonna be "on" at the unit. Oh, yeah, I'm doing a split hall, with a little over half being the locked Alzheimer's unit...I think I'm going to like it when the butterflies leave me alone ! :lol2:

:welcome:Welcome back to da 'hood mimi! I've been in LTC for 16 years and have never worked anywhere else. I guess I like being able to know my residents and families - which I would imagine would be a little more difficult in an acute care setting - they come and go so quickly. I'd mail you a butterfly net if I had one. :chuckle
