Average starting pay in PA?

When I first started at a pittsburgh hospital it was 18.95 two years ago. It's now up to 19 something for new grads.

Yeah I know. It seems everyone else around the pittsburgh area makes much more....

$22-$25 seems to be starting average in Philadelphia area.

Gulped when I saw that Philadlephia hospital 12/12 program I used to work in now is up to $43 hr AM, $48 PM ---that is average $13 hr more than I make as a manager in same health system.

Lehigh Valley has always paid lower than Philly area despite being 1 hr away...that's why many RN's make commute to city. I even had colleages from Pocano's work 12/12 weekends due $$.

I started at $24.53 as a 2005 new graduate in a Philly hospital in 2005. I now average $33.00/hr. with shift diff., cert. diff., etc. Overtime pay is excellent at almost $60.00/hr!

i think starting pay is very good. I am a new nurse and the hospital i am currently at pays 26.67. with sift diff i will make 30 and some change. so that's pretty good for a new nurse i think
