Automatic feeders?

  • Admin

What are your recommendations for automatic feeders? I have one that I’m trying to set up that just might find itself on a truck back to Amazon if I don’t use percussive therapy on it first.

Is it for indoor or outdoor feeds. I have never much liked outomatic feeders as they seem to allow me to spend less lime with my dogs. In Summer I usually feed them between 7-8 pm and then we have 30 mminutes to an hour of training and fun time. I am trying to introduce the new dog to tracking. so am working on the seek command. My Son did think it was funny when I had him rub a cloth over his sweaty gym cloths including armpits and privates. But the dog thinks it's great fun to find him even though he's not really lost.

Back to the feeders - another problem I have with them is the dogs free feeding at any time of the day or night. The feeders tend to attract ants and other bugs as well as larger pests like raccoons or opossums. One of my previous dogs tried to take on an opossum once and ended up with 39 sutures.

Despite my physician's admonitions against exessive exercise I gave the dog a bath today. It's about 102 degrees and we both ended up throughly soaked and refreshed.

They’re for indoors. I have a trip coming up, and will have a pet sitter visiting twice a day. However, I want to keep them on their routine of three din dins per day at specific times.
