ATTEMPTING to get organized

The first day of nursing school for me is in 2 weeks (Grayson College in Tx) and I am ATTEMPTING to get organize. However, I am getting overwhelmed and really do not know where to begin. I have printed my nursing student handbook as well as the syllabus and placed them in protective sheets in a binder. My main question is, are there any programs or apps out there for windows 8 which allow you to do voice recordings as well as type and store notes? Any organizational suggestions of any kind are welcomed!

Not sure if you are a type-your-notes kind of person, but check out Microsoft OneNote. It is basically an electronic binder system. It organizes everything for me.

Thank you! I'll check it out!

I second the one note. It's also easy to insert PowerPoint, or other documents. Love OneNote!!

Good luck on the organization effort.

Somewhere in my late 40's, I finally decided that no matter what method I chose (hey, I was an enthusiastic Franklin Planner person!), it didn't actually help me change my underlying approach..... careening in at the last minute no matter how much advance notification I have. I really admire organized people. I realized that I basically had no 'respect' for paper and despite my attraction to the latest and greatest calendar systems I just didn't keep them current.

Luckily, I now have technological 'nags' to keep me on time... cell phone synched to my master calendar. My organized colleagues can add tasks & appointments to my calendar. My electronic leash keeps me focused and on time for everything. My life? There's an app for that! - LOL.
