Hey everyone, I am about 2 months into my program and I am doing very well in all my classes so far, but my school requires us to take the ATI and im soooo nervous! Has anyone taken the fundamentals ATI exam? How was it, did you find it hard...any feedback would be great, thanks in advance!

Best thing to do is study the ATI books you are provided and do the practice tests on the ATI website. What I found challenging about ATI was that some specifics were different in ATI text than in my school book texts or what I learned in class. For that reason, general knowledge from class is good but would focus greatly on the ATI materials for the ATI exam. Fundamentals is going to be the very basics, but as you get into various specialties and whatnot it will get harder. Hope this helps :)

I agree with Kara there are many differences from the text book vs the ATI books. What worked best for me was to take the practice exam and then look up everything you missed in the ATI book. At the end of the test you can print off a list of the areas you were weak in and it gives you the chapters you should further study. I found in the end the ATI tests prepared me for the NCLEX. :)

My goodness ATI's are such a waste for nursing. They have nothing to do with the NCLEX PN or RN. You have to study them in order to pass their standards if you want to grad. A little advise for new students; if you do the work, do not complain, and keep your self to your self graduation is in your future. Less is better and more is considered brown nosing.

Good Luck....

Hello I'm a VM instructor and have been recently introduced to ATI. Integration of the ATI material in class has not been required but I do know that ATI prepares you to take content exams given by us and prepare the VN student for boards. ATI does provide a tutorial which guides you through the process. Time is of the essence so make sure you ask any questions that come up In order to utilize the tool effectively.

I went through health care starting as a certified nursing assistant, LVN, then RN. we did not have such a tool and wish it was available. With all that is require to be a safe practitioner, any tool that will help with boards the better. Of course there may be many who don't agree but at the end is the day it is opinions, right?

I am having much trouble with Dimensional Analysis; anyone have any "pointers?" I have to take the Drug Calculations exam this week too! Yikes! I am earning excellent grades in everything else so far-hate to let this math get me:singing:

Just google dimensional analysis... it will really help you with accuracy in calculating med-math.
