Today we were supposed to report to the school to take the med-surg and pharm ATI assessments. It turns out we had to take those and the comprehensive NCLEX predictor ATI (180 questions), all back to back. We weren't told we would be taking the comprhensive, so we didn't review past stuff like Naegle's rule, Apgars, things like that. Plus by the time I got to the big test, I was worn out....
....anyhoo, we had to have a 60 composite score or we would be required to take the NCLEX review offered by the school....
....a score of 70 or better means you have %99 predicted probability of passing the NCLEX....
....I got a 75! felt good, put me at %99 of national percentile!! pretty cool, huh?

I have to take the comprehensive assessment next month. Any suggestions? What was it like? Tips????? We have two chances to pass and most people fail it the first go at my school. So congrats to you:balloons:
I was thinking about purchasing the online assessment from the ATI website for practice. Did you or anyone you know try this? Did you buy the books?
I am VERY nervous. I took the HESI PN last year and did great but I hear this is a terribly hard exam.
Thanks,
Kate
We have been taking the ATI all along to co-incide with our classes, so I have the books....I had reviewed the med-surg book b/c I thought we were taking the med-surg and the pharm tests, I didn't know it we would have to take the comprehensive. During the test I was prepared to 'go off' b/c I thought I was doing bad and was not allowed to prepare, it was like a mini-NCLEX... but I did good, did good on the pharm too (surprise) The med-surg one was the hardest...If you are doing comprehensive I would say most of it requires overall knowledge that you should have by now ( the ability to think through a question and formulate your answer based on cumulative knowlege) except for OB, who remembers that stuff? Review things like Naegles rule, Apgars, stages of labor. The great thing about this test is that although you never know what questions you missed it gives you a print out of subjects that you need to review. The parts that I scored lowest on were cardiovascular and endocrine...well, duh, isn't that everyones weakness? Oh, a lot of ABG's and questions about burn patients...WTF?

I took the predictor yesterday (5-9-09) and it was pretty easy. I got a 85% which is still 99% predicted probability of passing NCLEX. The reason I think this happened so well for me is because last week, Mon-Thursday we did the Hurst review. It is an awesome review program. It is quick paced and to the point. If anyone reading this has doubts about passing boards I recommend the Hurst review. Its like 300 dollars and you can sign up for it and go somewhere in your area to take it.
If all goes well I should graduate in 5 weeks. I'm pumped.

We didn't begin ATI until our third of four semesters. They had us do numerous online focused tests. Before each we had atleast one practise test. They also gave us all the books which really helped in studying for our unit exams. After we took each test we could generate a customized reveiw based on our answers which told us what chapters to reveiw and what vidoes to watch. I didn't study much before the comprehensive ATI. There was just too much material to cover. I got 88% with a 99% percent chance of passing the NCLEX. We had to have a 67% or above to pass the course and graduate. Everyone in my class passed. Our average was 10 points aboved the required so they are increasing it next year.

Took ATI comprehensive predictor on Friday, do not think the test is bad as says. Anyhow I passed with 96% predictability of taking the NCLEX. :yeah:

How do you take a predictor test? IS there any way to get the codes for the 180 question predictor for practice?
Thanks

I am going to have to take that too...
we too took ati tests all along,
now i heard that on our last semester, we will only meet at the school 1 day, for about 5 hours for some intense testing! and then we have clinical 2 days a week (plus we attend another class whomever needs to finish 1 or 2 gen.eds. which is 3 days a week)
well, i hear that we will be taking all our tests back again
from fundamentals ATI all the way to mental health, and everything in between, then they will get us on some sort of 3000 nclex questions,...
question is, how will i:
be at school 3 days a week, (monday from 8-4.30 and tue/thur 8-1pm)
work sunday through thursday untill mid night
be on 12 hour clinicals friday and saturday!!!
take a whole bunch of tests in between!!!
... and they expect me to be nice to people!!! (out of the hospital)
i hope my preceptor on february has weekend shifts, otherwise, i will loose all my vacation time for the rest of the year !!!

79.3% is the 99% chance of passing the NCLEX
If you have an 80 on your own that's the 98th percentile
