ASU Summer/Fall '15

Hi everyone!

Anyone else applying for the Summer/Fall '15 nursing cohorts at ASU! I attended the Advancement Workshop on Friday and I am just so excited! I thought I would create a thread for all of us applicants and exchange ideas, study tips, scores, thoughts, excitement, and whatever else! :)

Personally, my first choice is Summer, but I would love to get to know all of the 2015 applicants!

Thank you for encouragement... :) I called nursing department and they said the cutoff was 1.755 for this summer/fall cohort and I had about 1.83. I am still confused but hoping for the best.. Anyway Congrats again, and I hope you enjoy the summer program!!

Congrats Amber!! I just found out that I also I got in for Summer!!!!! I'm so excited and relieved! Binnah, your scores sound amazing. I think there's definitely hope for acceptance into the program by being an alternate. Maybe sitting down with an advisor to get more clarification could help? Good luck in getting accepted!

I got in for Summer too! Congrats you guys! And I think for the Fall program even if you had an amazing score there are always TONS of direct admits who get in and then not much room left for competitive entry. When I went to the very first information session forever ago, they said that there were only two spots open for that most recent Fall entry for competitive students because there were 58 direct admit students who got in. So it doesn't mean that you didn't do well! It just means that they take the direct admit students as priority :/ But I wish you luck and hope you do end up getting placed! There is always hope that situations will change or people won't complete the rest of the requirements that are needed (drug test, final proof of health ins., etc.) and will then lose their place in the program. Good luck!

Hmm I would definitely follow up with one of the advisers and see why you didn't get in.

I emailed in my intent to enroll yesterday! :) I am so excited to get our next email or list of things we need to do to start prepping. The only think I am dreading is the drive from Gilbert to Downtown everyday LOL. I wonder what our schedules will be like..

Amber are you coming into this as a transfer student or were you already at ASU? I am a transfer student but just from my husband having gone to school already at ASU he has shown me everything I need to know haha. You can look up the major map and then do a class search for the summer to see what the schedule will be like, assuming they stick to it. I think if I remember last time I looked it was like M,W,F for sure but didn't list the days we would have lab/clinicals. That sucks you have to drive that far! I live right off the light rail in mesa so I'm planning on just taking in the train for at least the first semester but Downtown still seems so far away so I'm not totally looking forward to the commute either :) I am planning on sending in my intent to enroll today. So excited to get started and meet everyone and begin this journey!

I'm already an ASU student :)

Ooo I am definitely going to do that and take a look!

I think I will end up driving to the nearest light rail park&ride and take the light rail to campus every day lol

Hi everyone, I am very excited to start this program. I got into the Summer 2015 program. I can imagine how much effort everyone had to put into this application, now it is finally here! Well, this is just the beginning, the real work is yet to commence. I look forward to meeting everyone and forming lifelong friendships!

And to Bin, I know that your path to get here was long and arduous and it will pay off down the road! Know I am here, you know how to contact me, if you need anything please do not hesitate to reach out.

Congrats!! :)

Would any of you guys want to connect on Facebook?

I would be totally down for connecting on Facebook. I know that in the past there have been facebook groups specifically for the cohorts.

Yeah! I definitely want to have one made for our cohort! :)

I'm Amber Leal on Facebook. My profile picture is the same one I have on here :)
