Asked to shadow? A good thing?

Hello! :clown: I was asked to shadow recently for an internship. I am really hoping I get in. They had almost 30 applicants (I was told), interviewed a top 12 and will take 6. I was one of the top 12. They asked me and a few others to come back to shadow. I am thinking that must be a VERY GOOD sign that they want me. I cannot imagine they would ask you to come back to shadow and then you NOT get in. They also told me at the interview that I did well, and the panel was smiling and thanked me a lot for coming... what do you think?? If they ask you to shadow, do you pretty much have it?? THANK YOU! :redpinkhe :nurse:

I am not sure, but wanted to wish you the best of luck. It sounds promising to me. :)

Seeing how you interact on the floor is probably how they decide who the top 6 are. At my institution shadowing on a unit is part of the interview process. Good luck!

It sounds like your chances are really good, but remember that you don't have the job until you get the official job offer. Keep up your A game when shadowing to make a good impression. Good luck.

Shadowing is part of some interviews. Letting you see the unit and letting the employer see how you interact with the staff. Not a guarantee for the job. i shadowed and was passed over. My guess is for someone that had less experience = less pay. I don't know the real reason because they wouldn't tell me. Difficult to get feedback so you know if you need to do anything to improve your chances next time.

I shadowed last week and was passed over for someone with more experience..this is truly a hard job market for a new nurse.
