Just wondering if anyone out used this program and how the process went for them.
I tried to. Jumped through hoops three months before school which was January. The recruiter quit taking my calls in March. Then they finally called in October to see if I was still interested. I was not.
It offers a good bit of money but you will pay back time. You have to weigh out the pros/cons. The deployments for Army reserve is about 3 months but the guys I work with say it ends up more 4-5 bc of the in/out-processing.
Thanks

I've been looking into the Air Force HPSP program and it's been EXTREMELY hard to get a hold of someone. If you get any more experience with the HPSP program please post about it, I'm very interested in what it entails, how hard it is to get in and how others felt about doing it. Thank you.
I don't know how it is for the AF, but I have all of my paperwork complete for the Army. All the nurse anesthetist slots were filled for FY 2012 so now I have to wait until October to have my package resubmitted and then hopefully by the end of October I should know one way or the other.
To me it seems that this program is harder to get into towards the end of the fiscal year, so applying sooner rather than later may help. It's a pretty good program because I'll end up getting over $100k to pay for my CRNA school and a stipend for only a 3 year commitment active duty. The downside is that active duty pay is based on rank so your income is going to be less than what it would be in the private sector, but I'm ok with it.
