I have been looking into moving to Arlington after I graduate. Does anyone have any info about the area, hospitals, payrates, schools, housing, basically anything!! I would appreciate it soooo much! BTW I had to change my user name for some weird reason I have been a member here for over a year but oh well!

It's a nice, fun city that's conveniently located in the middle of the DFW metroplex. You'll be within commuting distance of both Dallas and Fort Worth. Arlington is about 10 miles from Fort Worth and about 15 miles from Dallas, and there's a plenitude of jobs in the metroplex.

I lived in Arlington for 3 years. No complaints about it other than traffic, but if you are going to live in a major metropolitan area thatis just going to be a way of life. As Commuter said, jobs are plentiful and you will have a broad selection of places to work.

We've lived in or around Arlington for the past ten years. There is LOTS of new growth south of Arlington in a town called Mansfield. Lots of new homes, new schools, etc. The only drawback I can see there is that the schools are supposedly busting at the seams...but they are supposed to be good schools. Methodist Hospital is opening a brand new hospital there within the next few months...supposed to be very nice.

If you like older, more established neighborhoods, go up to Pantego or north of I-30. The "good" schools are scattered and you need to ask around, but there are some very good ones that people wait in line for days to transfer their kids. If you live near I30 you will find that Ft.Worth is about 18 minutes away and Dallas about 25 (early in the a.m. with no traffic).

Good luck !

Thanks so much for your replies!! I am going to really look more into that area. I think it might be just what we are looking for.
