Are MSN programs in the Philippines worth anything in the US (Texas)?

Good day! I'm planning on enrolling myself in Centro Escolar University's Master of Science in Nursing Major in Medical-Surgical Nursing Program while I'm processing my NCLEX and VisaScreen. I'm just wondering if their program is accredited in the US or if i could actually use my future MSN title in the US specifically in Texas. I hope you guys can answer me as soon as possible since the classes starts in June. Best of lick to all of you and thank you in advance ☺️

No US BoN will approve or accredit any overseas nursing program. There is typically no MSN in medical-surgical nursing in the US so it's not likely to be deemed equivalent to a US MSN. Most MSN programs are either clinical towards a CNS or APN status in one of the credentialed specialty areas (acute care, family, pediatric, etc), education, administration, or information technology.

Does that mean that it's worthless even if i have it evaluted by CGFNS? Or i can change my major and it can somehow be credited?

You need to look at the curriculum and compare it to USMSN programs. If it's not equivalent it's not helpful in the US but likely helpful in the Philippines. If you want the degree deemed equivalent to US education you need to choose a specialization that exists in the US. MSN in M/S is not a typical offering in the US and therefore won't be equivalent. An unrecognized won't get you any additional credentials or employment offers in the US. If your BSN is deemed equivalent to US standards you may be eligible for licensing as an RN.

It's not common for master's degrees overseas to be equivalent in another country.

Advanced practice roles are generally country specific
