Aquinas Nursing Program

Published

Hi, I've been accepted to aquinas college and will begin in fall 2011. I was told that nursing program is very competitive. I haven't been accept in the nursing program yet. I plan to take A&P, ethics, moral, and sociology the fist semester. My current GPA is 3.13. What is my chance to get into nursing program? And what is the next step I have to take? I haven't take HESI or write an essay for nursing program yet. Do I have to do that before fall or whenever before deadline for the next nursing admission which is sept. 1? Should I also apply for other college also? If so, where should I apply? Btw, I already apply at Nashville Tech but they still need more paperwork from me. (I'm not from here, so everything have to be sent directly from my school in Thailand which takes FOREVER.)

Thank you.

I am about to graduate from Aquinas's nursing program. The deadline for spring 2012 nursing is probably in September. I highly recommend you take what you listed next fall and in the spring take the rest of your pre-reqs (micro, a&p II, etc) and apply for the nursing program for fall 2012. If you do that you will take the hesi in January and the essay will be due around then too. You could apply for next spring but your chances are better if you have completed some of the prerequisites. Aside from that with your gpa I think you have a good chance of getting in. But I speak from experience when I tell you that you will be so much better off not having to take other classes with your nursing classes. The lectures and clinical take up a lot of time and it helps if you can focus only on the nursing classes.

I forgot to mention that I can transfer psychology, eng I, II. So what left would be A&P II and micro. I was thinking I would split that and take with nursing classes since I heard micro is very hard.

I applied to the nursing program for the fall but I still haven't heard anything. Has anyone received a letter?

I received my acceptance letter today so hopefully you will get yours today or monday also :) GL

Hey all, I applied for the Fall 11 ASN and got put on the wait list. Does anyone have any advice, thoughts etc... I really want to go to Aquinas and I'm wondering if being on the wait list will give my application priority for the Spring 12 program if I don't get to start this fall ? I'm just not sure what all being on the wait list entails. Most of my friends that got into programs were wait listed the semester before, it seems to be a pattern for a lot of schools to wait list you than accept you the next term.

Willmo81: I was put on the waiting list too. I was also wondering about what it meant for be being put on the waiting list. The letter said after May 24th we would know more about the wait list acceptance. I wonder what the % is of students they take from the wait list? Does anyone have information on the wait list process?

I'm on the waiting list as well. When I called they wouldn't tell me how many people were on the waiting list. They said that the people that got accepted have until may 23 to turn in their stuff and if they don't they start pulling from the waiting list. It seems like a lot of people are on the waiting list.

Has anyone heard from the Aquinas waiting list, yet?

I got a call on the 25th saying I was accepted so everyone should hear something soon.

Have you thought about taking your A&P/Micro this semester at say Nash St this summer and then transferring it? Might speed things up for you...?

to Aquinas students who started their nursing program in 2011 - how is it going? What do you like about the school most and could you tell me a lil bit of what you are going through!

Ty . :)
