Applying for RN to BSN programs, need help with personal statement!

Hi! I am in the process of applying to RN to BSN programs and I am really worried about writing the personal statement because I fear that what I have to say isn't unique enough. Here's the prompt: describe your professional plans and goals. What inspires your interest in continuing your nursing education in our program? Describe your long-term professional plans and aspirations. How do you feel the BSN will help you toward these goals and/or enhance your nursing practice?

The truth is that I'm only interested in getting a BSN because hospitals prefer it and I believe it will help me get a job, but I can't write that! And my goal is to work as a nurse in a hospital, but I don't know for sure what area I'm most interested in. I think I would be happy in MANY areas of nursing!

So my question is, do any of you have any advice about writing a personal statement that will stand out, or ideas about what colleges are really looking for? I would really appreciate any and all advice!

They want to see that you are determined and motivated to reach your goals. What are your goals specifically? so you've completed the associates program, from your experience did you like some areas of nursing ? I think you should state a few that intrigue you the most since you don't have a specific one in mind.

so you want to continue your education beyond associates degree. what is the motivation for doing that besides finding a job! what will the RN to BSN program teach you or what will you learn that will help you become a nurse? There must be some differences between an associates program and a RN to BSN program.

good luck on your applications

Maybe talk about your professional development and having more opportunities available to you. You might mention evidence-based practice- BSN programs are big on this, and talking about improving your skills in this area might be a good thing to cover.
