Hello Everyone!
I'm from the Philippines and just passed the National Licensure Exam here. I don't have a job yet as i am really confused if i will take my time to prepare for NCLEX or to have a job in any hospitals here. But i later on found out that preparing for the NCLEX would be a wise decision (my personal reasons Lol!).
Now my concern here is how to apply for the NCLEX? I mean, the step by step guide on what things should come first? The forms, the certificates, fees, etc and etc. I hope some Filipino Nurses here who just had their NCLEX would understand my situation. I really have no idea at all (i'm not located near manila, i'm from a distant province). I would really appreciate and love to hear from you guys...
Thanks in advance and Godspeed!

Please take the time to do some reading on this forum especially threads on Primer to working in the US, Retrogression and California as initial licensure You are not applying for NCLEX but licensure as a RN in the US of which NCLEX is part of that process. You are looking at several years before moving to the US due to the high demand from your country. We also have a great search engine so try that with keywords. You also need to decide where you want to live as some board of nursings (BONS) do their own assessment, most use CGFNS CES full report and NY has their own process with CGFNS called CVS. Not always beneficial going to a BON who processes faster as to endorse you still need to meet BON requirements for foreign trained nurse and with retrogression there is no fast way to move.
Welcome to the site
Thank you for your fast reply silverdragon. but i didn't mention here that NCLEX is only for US entry. What i was asking is the step by step or the methods on how bouts or wherabouts of processing for the NCLEX exam. i will try to use your search engine and thanks again for reminding me. God bless you more!
You need to meet the requirements of board of nursing for foreign trained nurse and only once you have met the requirements will you be given permission to sit NCLEX. It varies from state to state. Some states require CGFNS exam (not many now actually require this) Some do their own evaluation most require CES report from CGFNS. Some states also require a pass in English before they will give permission to sit NCLEX. It all depends on where you want to work and with what BON you apply for.

Also just want to add to make sure that you constantly update yourself with your respective BON/BRN's website regarding the requirements and fees before submitting anything to them. What may be true 1 week, 1 month, 1 year since you visited them may not be true anymore. The latest change is in NM; they just increased their fee for the fingerprint process and some f.print cards were either returned or just the bankdraft because the fee did not reflect the new fees. Any delays causes significant delays in the total processing time. It would be your personal responsibility as an appplicant to update your self w/ all their requirements.
Thanks Lawrence... now it's getting more clear to me everyday.. i just want to ask, the BON you mentioned, are they the BON in the Philippines or the BON of the state that i would apply for? just want to clarify things.. thanks by the way.. i found your thread for Pinoy RNs very useful.. thanks a lot!
You will be apply to the BON in the US
It would be the BON of the US State and each State BON has it's own rules, policies, application fees and requirements and they change it anytime so familiriaze your self w/ their website. Some require the CGFNS Certitication, some just the CES, a handful do the evaluation on their own, some require a particular English exam 1st (others don't), some require f.print processing as part of their application process (others don't). It would now be your responsibility to know what they are with the particular State BON that you will choose to apply a US RN licensure to. Each has it's own website and is complete with all the details on how to apply to them if a foreign-educated nurse. Applications forms are also downloadable from their website.
I just mentioned the New Mexico BON as an example as they've recently increased their fees for their F.print processing and many caught unaware of it and therefore cause the delays, so it pays to double check on any changes before submitting the forms and fees.
