Applying for NCLEX-ORegon

Hello Everyboody!.... Im a new member of this forum and truly a wonderful and informative site for nurses. Are there Filipino nurses here too?

Im a Filipina nurse and wanting to take up Nclex for oregon.... ( Just graduated last April '04, and passed the Phil. Board Exam last month.)

Where can i get an application form?...I've looked at their website but they dont have it there.

And does the state require CGFNS as well?

    You have to apply to Oregon for licensure first. Once they approve of your credentials then they will sned you a letter that gives you permission to sit for the NCLEX exam. Do not register for the exam until you receive the letter.

    You do not need to write the CGFNS exam, but will need to go thru a credentials evaluation.

    I hope that you do realize that you will be spednign about two years before getting your green card if you go to the west coast because of the petition process.

    and i also need to take cgfns pa.. kainis pa kasi ganito! hehe!!!

    how abt you? what do u plan to do? sa la union ka ba nag grad.? im from q.c., graduated from trinity.

    Please do not write in Tagalog as this is an American BB and many cannot read your language, nor will we be able to answer. California application will take you over 6 months before receiving your ATT letter, so definitely do not go that route, and they will not endorse you over to Oregon if you do not have a SSN#.

    Oregon does not have applications that you can download. If you go to the section on their website for new graduates, you will find a phone number that you can call to ge the application mailed to you, or you can have your friend obtain one for you and send it on to you..............

    i do passed cgfns and ielts already...i finished my bsn in la union but i grew up in pasig city...

    i do have application in ca but because of the processing times..i have to consider other states..like those under the vermont service center..because so far vermont service ctr. is the fastest among the 4 service ctrs..

    .. Ive emailed him the address and tel no. and hopefully he'll send it to me asap. But i've got a CA. application already, and forwarded it to my school.

    Im just wondering, if ever i take the Ca. state board Exam (hopefully pass it!).. Then move to Oregon, will i take their own state board as well? or they will honor the CA. exam.?... My friend told me that, CA state board exam is honored by all states and you will not take other state board exam when you first take the CA exam if you plan to move to other state, is that true?

    That's all for now, im just getting more confuse with these requirements.

    BTW, i got an application for CGFNS already, and forwarded it to my school.

    CONGRATULATIONS HAEL! Was it hard?... Im also thinking between IELTS or TOEFL, what do u think is the easiest? ( I know they're all hard)... I have an IELTS application already, just need to pay for it...

    You do not write a California exam, you are writing a national licensing exam good for all 50 states. Once you pass it, you will never have to retake it again in your life. Some states have specific requirements as if they want CGFNS exam or not, for foreign grads. Iliiinois would require you to take the exam, even if you had worked in the US for 18 months, they require a full 24 months of US work experience not to have to write the exam.

    You will be able to endorse to almost any state, but again with California: please be aware that they will not endorse you until you have a SSN#.

    congratulations hael! was it hard?... im also thinking between ielts or toefl, what do u think is the easiest? ( i know they're all hard)... i have an ielts application already, just need to pay for it...

    havent tried toefl...just the ielts..so i cant tell..

I cant find their appication forms for the examination but they have the application instructions and application for licensure. Is that the same form for the examination? How can I get the forms and what step should I do first? :confused: and also one of their requirements is to submit an original copy of the CGFNS certificate so does it mean that I have to ask a copy again from the CGFNS?

    You need to read the posts under the Interntional section, they will give you more help. NCLEX is a national licensing exam, so you do not write it for any particular state, it is the same for all over. Once you pass it, you never have to write it again.

    For the actual examination, you need to go to http://www.pearsonvue.com and pay for the exam. Once your credentials are accepted by a licensing board, and you have paid the fee to Pearson-Vue, they will send you the ATT letter that you need in hand to sit for the exam. But I wouldn't do anyhting with Pearson-Vue until your credentials have been accepted by where ever you want to get licensed. Also, have you applied for the Visa Screen Certificate yet? If not, get started with that now.................

    Hi Suzzane! thanks for your reply. Do u know what website should I visit for the board of nursing in district of Columbia? maybe it can help me find some information for the application of NCLEX. How can I get the application to be filled up by my school and for the verification of the license to be mailed by them? for the approval of my credentials. Im still in the process of my visa screen. Regrding the CGFNS certificate, should I get a new copy from the CGFNS?
