I live in California, my cumulative GPA including my prerequisites is at a 3.4 I also have no experience with volunteering at hospitals. This Fall, I am planning on applying to BSN programs in California but have heard it is very competitive and I truly think I won't make it in. Can I get some advice about OOS BSN programs that are not that competitive to get into? I am also a guy which I heard that men have advantages in getting into nursing programs because their are a lack of men in the field so idk if it is truly an advantage or just a myth. I am willing to go to near by states such as Nevada, Oregon, and Arizona for school. I'm kinda new to this, so any tips or advice about getting into nursing school would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I don't know much about California in particular, but I say just apply to a few different schools in your area and see what happens. It's competitive everywhere, so just go for it.

There may be a small bias in order to increase diversity, but if there is, it's minimal. You still need to focus on being a highly desirable candidate.
