2023 Applications to UBC and UVic NP program

Hi all,

I've applied to both programs to start in September 2023, and wanting to commiserate with anyone else who is anxiously waiting to hear. Looking back at previous years I'm feeling a bit discouraged since the admissions average seemed to be higher than I had been told by colleagues. Anyhow, let me know if you also applied and when you hear back from schools! Wishing you all the best of luck.

Hi there, I applied to UBC and UNBC..... Very anxiously waiting as well. I heard through a friend of mine who graduated from UBC NP Program that they typically get back to you about interviews in February, interview (end of Feb beginning of March) and if successful an offer end of March.  Good luck everyone:)

Nice to hear from someone else who understands the anticipation! Looking back at previous years it sounds like UVic actually might work a bit faster, so we may hear by the end of the month about interviews! I also heard back that TRU is still hoping to start their first NP cohort this fall, but they're still awaiting accreditation so they haven't opened applications. I'll update here if I hear more!

Was rejected from UBC this afternoon ? So those emails are starting to come out, just FYI. I know I'm not a very competitive candidate on paper though, so I'm not particularly surprised. 
Nothing from UVIC yet and no change in my status on the application portal.

First time applying to UBC. Recieved a rejection email earlier today. Good luck to those still waiting! 

P.s.. is it true that second time applicants have better chances of securing a seat?

I'm sorry. That's crappy! Did you apply elsewhere?

and I know that it can't hurt to apply multiple times, but I think it just depends year to year what their cut off is. I hope you apply again and get in!

Top of the morning! 

I didn't apply elsewhere due to a few reasons. Next year I'll cast the net further though as my situation will allow. Luckily I really enjoy my current job... I suppose they say it's beneficial to enjoy the journey for a reason.

Sorry to hear ? there is always the next intake! Thanks for the update. I wonder how long it takes to send out the emails? Do they go alphabetically? LOL

Do they provide feedback on your application and what to improve upon for future applications?

Sorry to hear about UBC.

I only applied to UVic, but of a last minute decision to apply so fingers crossed. 

Will let you guys know as soon as I hear anything, you guys do the same? OMG I'm so nervous

I've been obsessively refreshing my email every 5 minutes ? no news yet! And not sure about UVic. 
 

looking back ubc seems to have sent out emails several weeks before invitations to interview... I don't know if my heart can handle a few more weeks of this anticipation ?

Mine says 'Under Review by Department'
