Application processing

My lawyer sent my applications to USCIS. Because I haven't received anything I called them about the receipt number. The secretary told me that I am suppose to receive a letter from USCIS stating that they will process the application and I will receive an appointment for the biometrics later.

I checked the status online and it says: application type I485 and the processing date 365 and 540 days. It has nothing about the I765 application, the 90 days processing time and the biometrics???? Is this normal? I am trying to reach the secretary who is handling my case.

The EAD is not normally mentioned in that, it just shows up. It is only one step in the porcess, if I remember correctly, you are already in the US>

Hi Suzanne!

Yes I am in the US. I was just asking because, the only application is the I485, and the lawyer sent the I765 and I140 at the same time and all of them have to be under the same case number. I just called the lawyers office and they told me it is probably to soon to come up... Hopefully it's OK.

Thank you , let me know if you have different information.

Hi!

I called the lawyers office and they gave me the receipt number , that they received from USCIS. They sent my applications out on january 24th. I am in New York City so my center is Vermont also.

It should take about 60 to 75 days on average for you to receive your EAD. Then another week for the SSN#. This has been the time frame of everyone that I have helped, except a few have had it in a shorter time, even about 4 weeks.

Do not get hung up on the the dates that you see posted.

hi paksibaby,

i also got my receit number. did your lawyer's secy give you only one receipt number? there are separate receipt number for each application filed. i received the number for all three of mine(i-140, i-485 and i-765). you have to enter the appropriate number(if you enter the receipt number for i-765, you will see info about it). in my i-765 case they have written- this type of case takes 60-90 days for processing,we will inform you about our decision.

Hi!

The secretary told me that they put the same receipt number to all 3 applications.Very interesting.....My lawyer is on wacation , coming back on the 17-th ......, something is not right,I am going to call him.

I am just sick of the whole thing by now. Noting is going easily....

You received the receipt number from your lawyer's office,or by mail?

Thanks, :paksibaby

i received the receipt number from the lawyer's office. the secretary sent e-mailed 3 receipt numbers for me(one for each case i-140, i-485 and i-765) and two receipt numbers for my husband(i-485 and i-765)...probably the secretary gave you only one receipt number for your adjustment of status(i-485). there should be others(i-140 and i-765) too.
