Hi guys. I'm a new RN and I have an interview at NYU next week for post-partum. I've heard a lot of bad things about the hospital from nurses in the past, and their units tend to have a lot of very young RNs...which leads to wonder if most of them leave???
Anyone work at NYU? Any info is greatly appreciated!

Hmm, that is intersting. I heard similar bad stories about them myself. I applied there when I graduated from school and almost everyone I spoke to said the same thing about them. Anyway, I accepted a position and started working elseware b/4 they called me, so it was too late for me. good luck to u
Was it particular units that you heard bad things about? Because I've heard bad things "generally"....but I do realize it depends on the unit as well.
No particular unit mentioned. I applied for med/surg unit but they wanted to put me on a rehab unit.
You know even though the references were not good, I wanted to try it out myself but as I said, I got hired elsewhere b/4 they call me. So why don't you try it yourself, maybe it is not as bad it sounds.

I should be receiving an offer from NYUMC soon and plan to accept it. It cant be any worse than the place I'm at now. The hospital offers full tuition remission for NYU, so whatever it is I'll deal with it. The young RNs are probably due to the high cost of real estate in Manhattan, I hear Columbia is much more stable because people buy houses in the suburbs and are able to commute in easily.
Let me know what else you hear/experience..
