Hello Christen!

Well, I'm starting a graduate entry program, which is for people with a bachelor's degree in a non-nursing major. So, it's set up where I will complete all classes required for RN licensure, take Boards, and return to complete advanced nursing courses.

This fall I'm taking:

Nursing Fundamentals

Pathophysiology 1

Data Analysis (Graduate Stat. Course)

Neonatal Track

....and yes, YOUR PLATE is over flowing!!! ...but I'm sure you can handle it!!!:up:

What track are you on? What school are you attending?

I start at OSU this fall also! I am preparing like mad and have already received some of the texts :) I think that a particular struggle that grad entry program students have is walking away from successes and opportunities in former fields, which I have particularly struggled with. Does anyone else share in this? Thanks in advance for support on making the big switch. I am in FNP specialty and look forward to seeing you in some classes! -Sarah

Hi Sarah!!!! You should join our google group! Oh, and we have a Facebook group!

It's nice to see someone else in their 30's!!! Ha Ha, at OSU's welcome day EVERYONE that I personally met were 22-27.....

I haven't ordered my books...though I have locate them. So many things to purchase for the quarter!!!

What was your previous profession???

Art education is what I leaving, but I still love it. I am signed up for the google digest but I am a little old for facebook I think. I have a family also which I noticed makes me a minority in the program. Do you? I am working part-time subbing and as care-giver, but will stop if I get to runned down. I am really lucky to have a friend helping watch my son during those night classes. My husband has coaching and so many things that he does that I have traditionally been the supporter behind the scenes. I can really see how this going to change the family dynamics since I won't always be available. That's one reason I am getting all my ducks in row early, so I won't be totally driving my family nuts!LOL:clown:

Hey Sarah!

Well, we are both in the minority, because I'm 31 and I also have a family!!!

As for facebook, I was hesistant, and the ONLY reason I joined the group was because it was for people in our program. My facebook pace is blank, and the only friends I have are the people in the program....and I'm sure it will stay that way.

Wanna exchange emails via PM? I don't want to post all of my private info!

Talk to you soon!!

Thanks and goodluck to you too!

Does your program require a PDA?

Specializes in progressive care telemetry.

I start tomorrow in a direct entry MSN program. Excited and so nervous to start! I'm 39 and wondering if I'll be the oldest in my class. After printing out all the syllabi and course schedules for 18 credit hours' worth of classes I feel like I'm a hundred! I was 21 the last time I was a full time student and now I've got 3 children, a husband, a house and a part time job! Gotta figure out when and where I am going to study.

Taking a deep breath and jumping in.... Good luck everyone!
