There are 1000 mcg in 1mg
Dobutamine 1gram = 1000 x 100 = 100,000 mcg
Dobutamine 100,000 mcg in 250 mls
Dobutamine 100,000 mcg in 250 mls Now divide both mcg & mls by 250 to simplify=
Dobutamine 400mcg in 1 ml
You guys ROCK!!!!
uh oh - we have 2 different answers
Let me double check my brain
I redid the math - if this doesnt make sense, someone come over and knock me upside the head with a bedpan

I guess we've mixed up some decimal points, huh?!?!
hehehe:chuckle
It is easy to jumble our brain cells when we have too many zeros and decimals!!!
I just noticed you are in Rochester - I grew up in Osseo - near MPLS !!!
Too cold for me!! I am a southern girl now!!!
ahhh ok. So ladies..did you work it out? LOL
I'll tell you what. I hate math so I envy you being able to even Attempt to work it out.:chuckle

That's really funny you say that you're from here... I am actually from New Orleans and just moved up here. Working at Mayo...
That town sounds familar but I'm still not sure about the area. How far away is Osseo?
So I guess we traded places :)
Anyway... still not sure about this problem...
I keep getting the 4000 mcg/ml
Oh well... sorry about the decimal confusion!
Osseo is just a little north of MPLS.
I have lived in Virginia for about 20 years now -
I love the heat and the summers here - and the mild winters.

The first line:
Dobutamine, 1 gram= 1000 x 100 = 100,000 mcg
should read:
Dobutamine, 1 gram= 1000 x 1000 = 1,000,000 mcg
That's why the correct answer is 4000, not 400. (I always like to know what went wrong.)
