Anyone else ....OCCC?

Howdy!

Anyone else out there getting ready to start Traditional Program @ OCCC?

I can't wait for orientation next week! I'm nervous and ready for AUG 20th. It sounds like the new building will be finished, so maybe we will get to move into a bigger lecture room. I hope. My kiddos start school that same day, so that should be a crazy week.

Thought I'd say Hi and see if any classmates were here.

Good Luck to All! :p

I won't be getting in until Spring 09 (hopefully) or Fall 09, but wanted to tell you good luck! :nuke:

No, but I hope to be jumping in with you Fall semester '09!!! I'm getting my LPN starting Aug. 18th. I saw the CLP class doing their orientation while I was there for class last week, and it was so exciting to think I'll be a part of it this time next year! (hopefully).

Do you mind if I ask what your pts were? I know CLP is a bit different, but just from looking at the packet, it looks like I'll have 16pts and I just wondered if that would be competitive?

Good luck to you!!!! Congratulations :redbeathe What an exciting time :)

Great to hear from a few OKIES!

Rxtech- good luck for Spring 09! By then I'll be able to all about NP1- good, bad, & ugly!

April&em--Good Luck with the LPN! I had 19 pts but my friends with 16 got in from the alternate list (they usually take 10-12 from the list). BUT I have heard that the CLP requires fewer points. I know a guy who had his EMT and got in for the CLP this fall with 9 pts! It's a whole different admission process than the traditional class. You can call the advisor and just ask what the minimum points were this year for CLP. That way you won't worry.

I gotta go get scrubs before they're all gone!

GOOD LUCK

What color are your scrubs? I know this is silly, but I was really disappointed to learn that mine will be tan  You'll have to keep us posted on how everything goes!! I'm so excited for you

We have to wear Cherokee Workwear in NAVY. Tan is not really exciting but it's better than some striped apron and white pants! My friend in another program actually has to wear a blue/white striped vest-like thing with white dress pants not scrubs! I feel lucky!!

I know this is a older thread but just seeing if anyone is still out there. I applied at occc for spring 09 and just got my letter in today. I had 16 pts and a 3.15 gpa. I am #3 on the alternate list. I sure hope they call me!

That is what I have heard. I am not for sure but I think they always take around 10 alternates, I could be wrong though. I know if you find out the last minute that is not much time to prepare and get ready but I don't care. This is something I have been waiting on for four semesters! =)

Have you applied or are you going to?

I have heard that they only usually take 10 to 12 alternates but who knows for sure until the deadlines are met. Like if people don't turn stuff in and all. I am still waiting to hear so I will keep you updated.....=)

I'm applying to OCCC for their accelerated course---from baccelaureate degree to RN in 10 months. Anyone doing that?

Hey guys! I am going to apply for Spring '10 I have to wait til the summer to start A & P 1  Did you (whoever is already in the program) already complete all the science courses or can you be currently enrolled in some of those classes and apply (and still get points for them)?? Anyways, hopefully some of us will start together....:nurse:
