Sorry for being the negative ball here. I am currently taking my pre-reqs for the RN program at Bronx Community College. Looks like PHM11 will be putting me behind 1 semester. ugh!! BCC really needs new staff! Everyone always seem extremely annoyed. is it just me?
sighhh...looking for some encouragement. how long did it take you (students/grads) to finish the RN program? what was your GPA to get in? what are you doing now?
will i survive??

im in CUNY too for RN thinking about switching to LPN at Hostos they always give me the run around and seems like no one ever has the right info:down: but i heard it was gonna take 2 years and a half a full year of prereqs and a year and a half of clinicals.. -__- and whats worse is if you have remedial classes like i do.. hope that helps :/

Sounds like good training for the real world of nursing.

You guys are better off at a private college.. waiting on getting into a cuny nursing program can cause you to wait another year to get in. trust me i be there done that, now im getting into a nursing program without waiting.
what school do you attend Cece? and how long is your program?
I decided to just transfer into a 4 year CUNY school that way I dont waste time with unnecessary classes.
I was really hoping for some CUNY nursing students to chime in..
I have a B.S. from Hunter. Transferred to Lehman to try to get into a nursing program. Denied because I repeated A&P 1. Now, I will be attending Long Island College Hospital in brooklyn for their ADN program. I know its like going backwards but I do not have to wait to be in the nursing program like I was previously doing in CUNY. I'm automatically starting my nursing career.

Graduated from BCC in 2009, and get use to it, nursing school is tough, BCC is doubly tough, CUNY is tough, you have to do everything yourself, no one tells you anything, the staff is not too friendly to say the least, and it took me 4 years with the pre regs to get through the program, I got my BSN from Lehman and am working in home care, not my first choice but it is a job.

I am an older student in the Nursing program at BMCC . My advice is to not take CUNY staff actions personally. I've attended private and public colleges. Administrators come in various types, but from my experience, they respond better to respectful, motivated students. They know students need their help usually. Unfortunately, many administrators and Professors will give back the same treatment they receive from the student body, and I've seen some terrible students at BMCC, to say the least.
