  1. what school do you attend Cece? and how long is your program? I decided to just transfer into a 4 year CUNY school that way I dont waste time with unnecessary classes. I was really hoping for some CUNY nursing students to chime in..
  2. Thanks all! I will make an appointment to see an advisor. I appreciate all of the advice.
  3. The Pre-reqs are: ENG 10/11 Fundamentals of Composition and Rhetoric I/II CMS 11 Fund. of Interpersonal Communication PSY 11 Introduction to Psychology PHM 10 Pharmacology Computations BIO 23 Human Anatomy and Physiology I not sure if I can retake the courses at my previous community college since I already obtained a degree there :-/
  4. Need advice- My horrible grades from the past has finally caught up to me :-/ I graduated with an Associates degree a few years ago. I was young and was going to class just to make my parents happy. This was reflected on my GPA. Now that I am older and figured out what I want to study, I have the burden of my bad grades from the past. I have returned to community college as a second degree in nursing but I keep reading on how competitative it is. I know messed up bad, but I am focused and determined to put in the work to get into the nursing program. Is this an unrealistic dream? grades from 1st degree transferred to my new school: eng 1 - C eng 2 - B+ intro to psy - B art survey - D soc - B new grades: a&p1 - A chem - A can I/should I just retake all of my transferred courses? Please help
  5. Sorry for being the negative ball here. I am currently taking my pre-reqs for the RN program at Bronx Community College. Looks like PHM11 will be putting me behind 1 semester. ugh!! BCC really needs new staff! Everyone always seem extremely annoyed. is it just me? sighhh...looking for some encouragement. how long did it take you (students/grads) to finish the RN program? what was your GPA to get in? what are you doing now? will i survive??
  6. are CNA and PCT positions just as competitive to obtain as LPN and RN? I am considering taking a course but I am fearful of paying the money and not finding a job. is it worth it? if so, what is the salary range? any advise? by the way im interested in NYC or NJ
  7. Hello all, I am currently taking my pre-reqs at a local community college. I will be able to apply for nursing school either in the Fall 2011 *fingers crossed* or spring 2012. Will volunteering or working as a CNA/PCT help get into nursing school or at least look good on my resume once i graduate? reading all of these posts about the lack of jobs for new grads is really discouraging Do I have to be a CNA before being a PCT? is the course with worth paying for? Thanks in advance!
