Anyone applying to USF for fall 2010?

I have been accepted to USF as pre-nursing and am waiting for orientation so i sign up for pathophys over the summer. Anyone else planning on applying for fall 2010?

afrancis - I'm looking to apply to the accelerated BSN program in the fall. I too am a pre-nursing student and currently taking my last pre-reqs. Pre-reqs will be done this semester so I can "officially" apply to the program in the fall and if all goes well I'll be taking patho over the summer as well. Good Luck.

I just applied. I will be transfering from Santa Fe College in Gainesville. My GPA is currently a 3.1, but I'm taking Micro and A&P II and I'm sure I will be getting an A. So my Gpa will be a little higher. How bout you guys? Don't feel obligated to answer if you don't want to share. Thanks! Best of luck!

I'm transferring from hillsborough comm college to the upper division program. You need a 3.2 to apply so im really wishing you luck. I just took micro and a&p, they are challenging, but i got by with lots of flash cards. If you work hard then you can do it!

These programs have gotten VERY competitive so it may be tough getting in with a 3.1, but as long as you meet the minimum requirements you should definitely apply. Be sure you're researching as many programs as possible so you give yourself some options. There are different paths you can take and still end up with a RN license. Once licensed there are new avenues available that can still lead to a BSN or MSN depending on what your goals are. Good Luck to you.

When do we find out if we get in? Anyone know?

I know the application deadline for USF is June 15, and the first day for class is Aug 23, so sometime between there we'll know. I wish I knew exactly when.

I've heard mid-July... but don't have an exact date. Good Luck.

Around 2-3 weeks after the deadline! Im getting nervous as Im sure everyone is

I am very nervous as well, I saw in the SOAR discussion tab that we'll be notified 2-3 weeks after deadline via e-mail. In the meantime I'm taking pathophysiology at USF, so far its going good, but this class really gives me an idea of how hard I'll have to work in the program.

Hi! I have applied to USF for fall 2010 start as well! I was admitted as pre-nursing back in the end of April and I think we find out 3-4 weeks after the 6/15 window to apply closes. I have spoken to someone who was admitted for summer 2010 and she told me that the cutoff GPA was 3.67 (she had a 3.66 and was waitlisted but a week after she was waitlisted she was admitted). I know the admitted GPA changes from semester to semester though. I think she said that they admitted 45 students for summer. I currently have a 3.70 GPA and have already been waitlisted at the other school that I applied to (San Francisco State University in California); USF is a better school though so I am not too heartbroken....yet (if I don't get in to USF either then it will be bad). I wish you all luck; only 15 more days until USF starts to make their decision! :) Keeping my fingers crossed!

Ive heard that the GPA cuttoff for fall classes are usually the highest, since thats when most apply. But I didnt know that they had a waitlist, so this is a very good thing. Good luck to you!

That makes sense that the GPA cutoff would be higher; I was thinking that they do not admit as many students in the summer as they do the fall as well. Whatever the cutoff is, hopefully a 3.7 is good enough. :uhoh3: I guess we will know in 2-4 weeks....

And good luck to you as well! :)
