Hi Everybody: I'm in USA now, and as I haven't gotten my license yet ( it's still in process) my employer suggested me to begin "working" so I could begin orientation period. Everything's OK, I can't do much but I help around. So far, so good. But the more difficult thing for me is to get used to the language used in nursing assesments, and physician's orders. Could someone suggest me some books, publications, web sites, to consult on this? thank you all

Is this the hosptial or the agency asking this? Be careful, as the BON in NJ usually will not let a nurse do anything past the three days of initial orientation in the class without having the actual license.
My suggestion as far as book is L. Chabner's Language of Medicine. It has its onw built in work book.

Hi Suzanne: Thank you for your time. It's me not the Agency or the Hospital the one who's asking. I'm not doing nothing ,b ut looking around, and sometimes helping others. Not signing or charting. The hospital also doesn't wnat me to do nothing but look. So I read patients charts to get used to the expressions. And this is the most difficult part for me. That's why I'm asking. It's that so bad? Thank you.
