Do an Internet search and you will find several Introductions to Nursing Informatics.

I would suggest you start with: Nursing Informatics: Where Caring and Technology Meet (Health Informatics) by S.K. Donaldson, U. Gerdin, Marion J. Ball, and Kathryn J. Hannah

and that you also purchase a copy of the recently revised Scope and Standards in Nursing Informatics Practice found at:
