Any LPN to RN bridge programs in East TN?

Howdy, I'm slated to start my LPN in Sep at Tenn Tech at Elizabethon, are there any LPN to RN bridges here in east TN that I can get into next year?

Thanks

Tony

Hey there...Im originally from the tri-cities but moved to FL and pursued nursing here. ETSU has an LPN to BSN program and from what I hear its a year and a half long. I dont know of any LPN to ASN programs. I would think Northeast State offered one, but it appears they dont from looking at their website.

Im enrolled in the TN Tech program and the instructors had told us Northeast state has just started the program and excepting their credits this year for the lpn to rn program :)

I talked to the ETSU rep yesterday, she said that the LPN to RN bridge is 2 1/2 years with no summer classes. But the BSN for second degree holders is only a year and a half long.

Thanks for the reply, I went to the NE State RN program review, it's not so much a LPN to RN bridge as it is primarily entering into their RN program, while they do accept some of the classes, it's more of a do over situation versus a bridge.

I also found out that NE States program is not yet accredited, so I'd be leery about taking their program and not be able to transfer the credits to a BSN program.

With any new program there is going to be a period of time when it isn't accredited. It's a probationary period. I was hesitant about starting a brand new program (RODP AASN) that wasn't accredited but someone has to start it to get it accredited. It's worth the risk for me to start my program earlier than I had planned.

Good luck. I was going to suggest ETSU, I plan on doing their RN-BSN online program.

There is also Southeast Community and Technical College in Middlesboro, KY. It is just through the tunnel into KY. (about 5 min, if that). They have an LPN to RN (asn) program that takes a year. I start their program next week and did all my pre-reqs there as well. So far I would recommend the school to anyone. I love it.

Good Luck!
