Another Hesi question

Published

HI

I have to get a 800 in order for my director to approve me to take the NCLEX. It does not affect me graduating but I could not take the NCLEX if I don't pass it. So my question is. What should I study? I do 20 NCLEX questions a nite from Saunders disk, but I am not sure if I should also get the Hesi book and if so what is it called? Is it just another NCLEX book or is it specifically for taking the HESI? I will have 6 days from graduation to the time I take my HESI. If I fail it I have to keep taking it and of course paying to take it over again. I do not do well with tests so I am VEEERRRRYYY scared. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I haven't done the final HESI yet, but it seems I've heard it's tougher than the NCLEX. I've also heard their review book is more tailored to their exam.

That being said, since we aren't required to pass it to graduate, I won't be investing in another book!! My study space already overfloweth with medical/nursing texts!! Once I finish classes, it's straight to doing NCLEX studying!!

Best wishes!!

Wait...check with your board of nursing.

I don't think the school can bar you from taking the NCLEX once you actually receive your degree in nursing.

The schools I have seen refuse to hand over the degree until the HESI is passed b/c that is what the BON's ask for...evidence that you graduated from nursing school which is proven by your school transcripts NOT your instructor.

Also, if the requirement to take your HESI was NOT included in your first year of nursing, see an attorney b/c a school catalog is a legally binding contract...and they can't change the rules once you start.

The HESI test getting added after-the-fact has created some lawsuits and schools are losing these cases.

Just wandering if anyone has filed a suit against their school because of not passing Hesi and, if so, what were the steps they took??
