I've submitted one application, but the deadline isn't until August 31st, so I won't be hearing anything until Octoberish. For the other program, I'm in my last pre-req's, which I'll finish up in two weeks and shoot off my application. Their deadline is August 1, and I still probably won't hear anything until Octoberish. I've got a long few months ahead of me :)

I'm applying to TWU and have just finished my last semester of pre-req's, so I just sent in those final transcripts. Also, I JUST took my TEAS but won't find my score out until Wednesday! I'm applying with a 4.0 nursing core (I think 3.5 cumulative GPA but they don't look at that) but I don't know if that's enough because like every other program, you can have a bump if you took prereq's at that school or have a previous degree (I didn't/have neither).

The deadline is also August 15 so I won't find out until who knows when... these months will be the longest months ever!!!

The waiting is the worst part! I've been so preoccupied for so long with prerequisites and looking into programs that I really don't know what to do with myself. I suppose now is the time to pick up extra shifts at work to try and put some extra money away. I work as a CNA on my hospital's orthopedic floor.

I'm still looking into other programs and am planning out what prerequisites I may have to take if I apply to other schools. Washington is in the process of regulating their ADN programs state-wide (requiring they all have the same prerequisites), but that hasn't gone fully inot effect, yet.

Since I'm in summer school, I haven't had time to obsess over things yet. But I'm taking the fall semester off to spend time with my kids, and I'm sure I'll be a hot freaking mess.

I know the feeling! I applied to only one school (Lower Columbia College in Longview, WA) in part due to the location (all other schools are at least an hour's drive away) and also due to the varying prerequisites. I'm looking into other schools in the event I don't make it in this application cycle. I'm looking at the school's distance, the cost, and the number of additional prerequisites I'd have to take.

Rumor has it that attendance at my school is dropping, so I'm keeping my hopes up for the Fall. I should hear back in August.

A couple coworkers of mine just started the ADN program at Sumner College in Portland, but it seems sketchy to me. It's a 2-year ADN-RN program that doesn't require any prerequisites (because they're "embedded" into the program) and tuition runs around $45k. Yikes! I'd rather wait and take extra prereqs for a $20k ADN program at a community college.

Our school had the Kaplan exam a couple weeks back. All pre-reqs done, just waiting for final word on who gets in! We'll know BY 6/30 but possibly sooner. I'm dying over this wait and its only 7 more days at most lol Trying to do fun stuff to pass the time, camping, beach etc. Only works for so long!

Lucky duck! I still have until August. Now I'm worrying because it has been announced that my school is facing severe budget cuts due to dropping enrollment. I woke up to a news article entitled, "LCC braces for state government shutdown." This is not what I want to hear just as the finish line is in sight! Whatever happens, I'm hoping the nursing program remains relatively untouched due to its high popularity and the money it brings into the school.

I've looked more into the Sumner College program and while it's still very expensive, it's not as sketchy as it first appeared. I'm definitely looking into other programs before I seriously consider that route, though.

I graduated from the RN program at Sumner. It is a great program and by actually including the traditional 'prereqs' into the program, which they teach with the NUR courses. The Pass Rates have been in the 90%'s since they started the program. I took prereqs for a few years and I am so glad a co-worker told me about Sumner. I was hired from my practicum site and I'm currently in the BSN program at AS.

Now that I've done more research, Sumner may actually be my first choice if I don't get into LCC's fall start. I really like the hours. Mon-Fri from 0800-1400 and they are partnered with some really great schools for their BSN transfer programs. They said they transfer up to 30 or 35 credits which knocks around $12k off the total cost of the program, so compared to other schools it's not all that much more expensive. Their next start date is either in October or January.

Did you apply to Sumner's ADN or LPN program. I didn't make it in for fall at LCC so I'm kind of looking at other options as well. At this point I'm still undecided if I want to just enjoy some time off until I can apply again or keep pushing on and find another program.
