you absolutely can! i am a LPN and am ACLS certified. familiarize yourself with rates/rhythms/algorithms as per the 2008 AHA guidelines. you will be responsible for knowing this and performing as team leader in a simulated code, as well as having a written test. your 1st certification will be a 2 day course, and you will learn alot!
go for it. good luck to you :)

I am ACLS certified (LVN). Don't forget to put this on your resume once you get the certification. You can also get certified in PALS and NRP if you want to shell out all that money in fees. Some ACLS courses require you to take a course in EKG interpretation before you sign up for the ACLS course. You can buy books on EKGs and ACLS that will help you to prepare. Good luck.
thank you Caliotter3 for the incouragement now I really know what I have to do.
