You can start calling for cancellation dates whenever you feel prepared to take the exam. Currently it is very difficult to get a cancellation dste because some students who have been dragging their feet in regards to taking the exam have kicked it into high gear to avoid testing on the new 22nd ED study guide. It is doubtful (not impossible ) that you will test under the 21st ED so I would start with the 22nd ED and practice until you are blue in the face and then practice some more. Only then are you truly ready to take the exam. Study hard and grab that first time pass.

Congrats Bill,

Let me know when you get a date. Wishing you best of luck with everything.

I've seen from a couple of different sources that the wait time is currently six months to a year out, including call outs. That's horrendous.

Six months is normal. A lot of people in the Facebook groups are getting cancellations at 5 months. This is why the catalog warns students about the wait and tells them to plan appropriately. You are seeing a reflection of the national nursing faculty shortage right here. If you're ready and you call, you will get a cancellation date as long as you don't restrict yourself to one or two sites.
