Almost immediate STD (itching?)

Okay, as a preface, this is not about me! (It's been so rediculously long that I almost wish it were!)

I have a patient-23 y/o G3P1011 at 6 weeks. She's here for hyperemesis.

Her husband had been away on business since about a week after they conceived (via IVF), he just came home a week ago. She told me that right after having sex with her husband 5 days ago, he told her that he had a new girlfriend and he was leaving her. (Guess he wanted a last hump? Loser) It was the 1st time they'd had sex in months.

Anyways, she tells me yesterday evening that starting the day after they had sex, her "inner lips and the very end of my lady parts--like the opening" were moderately itchy and burning.

Aside from pubic lice (which I'd imagine would start feasting quickly), can the other STDs start itching so quickly? All the websites I've seen say a few days, weeks, etc. She let me have an external look, and visually, everything seems okay-slight amt of white d/c, no foul odor, no lesions, no bumps or sores, very slight edema/redness (I'd guess from her scratching q10min).

We did the GC/Chlamydia probe, so we'll see what those results are. But in the mean time...any ideas? (and no, we haven't ruled out psychosomatic itching either)

I can't give any insight about the itching, but HOLY COW I can't believe that jerk left her just weeks after a sucessful IVF!!!

Could be thrush - very common in pregnancy.

What a jerk for leaving her in this way. If I was her I would take a large pair of scissors to his you know what and cut if off!!

I think he gave her a lovely yeast infection. What a guy!

I agree, I would cut his thing off. What a BASTARD!!! I hope she is fine and didn't get a STD.

Unbelievable. She is better off without this jerk. I have no idea what could be causing this itching...(wrong biological equipment ) I think her psychological needs for support are going to be greater than physical needs. Best of luck Kell with figuring this one out....

This guy's lucky he isn't married to Lorena Bobbitt, because she'd probably get away with it a second time if he was.
