Just 20 minutes of training and she’s wiped!

I took her for another walk this morning and she did great. There was a little leash pulling but responsive to encouragement and gentle discipline. She is such a sweet dog and I have a difficult time understanding why several owners brought her back to the pound. When we were at the pound and inquired about her we were told that she had been returned to pound three times which made her unadoptable and they had scheduled her for euthanasia. We were literally between her and a lethal injection.

I do think she has come into our lives for a reason.....Time will tell what that is.

So when I went out into the yard today I discovered that Kiai had been a very naughty puppy. She got into the green house and tore up my banana tree. Then she tore up two full bags of potting soil. She clearly knew she that I was not happy as she laid down with her back to me and refused eye contact. I forget how much work puppies can be.

I've never been good at dog training, that was DH job.  At 66, been thinking of rescuing a dog, then arthritis stiffness kicks in walking up 3 front steps reminding me better to just admire pics.

Way back before I became a nurse I was a dog trainer and groomer. I even worked for a spell as the dog warden for Josephine County OR.
