I have a similar situation as you, and it took me a long time to get out of my own way. I also came from a poor family, lived on my own at 17, and I failed Chem the first go round, then did well in my other prerequisites. Now I am in block 1 and I am doing very well because I listen and study what they say. It is not easy by any means but it is doable, it is worth it, and your upbringing and passed grades don’t decide your future. You do.
