Agencies in PDX?

Hey,

I've been a nurse for 3 1/2 years, doing med/Surg with remote tele and have been on an oncology specific unit for the last 2 1/2 years.

What agencies do you recommend for per diem hospital work in the Portland metro area? I have my WA and OR RN license.

Hubby is in between jobs and my income isn't cutting it. I did agency work as a CNA for about 5 years total in PDX and Seattle area but that was quite awhile ago and I know the scene has changed a bit (Legacy doesn't use agency at all anymore).

Thanks!!

I was signed on with Favorites who do med/surg staffing. However, I didn't work a single shift; got called off every single one I had lined up. Because of that, they wouldn't pay me for the days I spent orienting to Tuality's computer system.

I really liked Integrated in Tigard. I called them, completed the application process and was working within a week. Since you have a WA license, they may try to send you to Pacific Specialty in Vancouver if they're still operating. I worked 5 shifts there in 2009 before I ran away screaming. I also worked at Laurelhurst and Benedictine. Both are very decent places, if you can do LTC. I wanted to work for them again after a nursing hiatus, but new JCAHO rules are that agencies can't send you to an area where you haven't had experience in the past year. But I did have a good experience with Integrated and would recommend them.
